Trombonist who has also gained fame as an arranger, composer, and band leader. He also ran his own independent jazz label Blues Back Records between 2005-2011, and played as a sideman to prominent jazz musicians, including John Allred.
Life Before Becoming Famous
He played as part of the McDonald’s High School All-American Band in New York City. He later studied music at Florida A&M University, where he also played in the school’s marching band.
Other Informations
He had his debut leading album Bone Structure released via Atlantic Records in 1996. He played as a sideman to Ted Nash on his 2001 album Sidewalk Meeting.
Family Life
His father Lucius was a church organist.
